The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), has confirmed that Ethiopian Airlines has paid the sanction fees imposed on it for consumer protection-related infractions earlier this year. This development brings the total number of international airlines that have complied with the NCAA’s sanctions to three.

According to the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the NCAA, Michael Achimugu, the sanctions imposed on airlines are corrective rather than punitive, aiming to improve service quality and ensure compliance with established consumer protection standards. The authority remains committed to protecting the rights and interests of all stakeholders in the aviation industry.

Achimugu, announced the payment via his official X account, stating that all three international airlines sanctioned by the Authority in 2025 have now complied fully.
