Cross River State Governor Flags Off Subsidized Tractor Distribution to Boost Agriculture

Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, has flagged off the distribution of subsidized mini tractors to farmer cooperatives across the state’s 18 local government areas. The initiative aims to boost agricultural productivity, enhance food security, and empower smallholder farmers.

The subsidized tractors will enable farmers to till more land, increase production, and earn higher incomes through mordenized Agriculture

The state government will provide training to farmers on maintaining the tractors, ensuring the initiative’s long-term success.

The governor hopes to inspire youths to view farming as a viable business opportunity.

Governor Otu has reaffirmed commitment by prioritizing agriculture, the value chain and ensure food security as promised during his campaigns, and the tractor distribution is a fulfillment of that promise.

The initiative reflects the governor’s commitment to empowering the people with tools, knowledge, and hope.

The subsidized tractor distribution is expected to have a positive impact on the state’s agricultural sector, improving productivity and food security while enhancing the livelihoods of smallholder farmers.
