Macs Foundation has congratulated The Progressive Institute (TPI) on the successful organization of the National Conference on Skill Acquisition and the recent release of the roadmap for a national policy on vocational training, commending its efforts in shaping Nigeria’s vocational education and training sector.

In an official statement, Macs Foundation lauded TPI for its 12-point communique, which highlights strategic measures to address youth unemployment and enhance technical and vocational education in Nigeria. The foundation particularly praised the institute’s commitment to structured transformation of artisans, gender inclusivity in skill development, and the creation of a central coordinating body for vocational training.

The establishment of well-equipped skill acquisition centers across Nigeria’s six geo-political zones and the proposed Nigeria Digital Literacy Management Office were described as timely initiatives that align with global best practices. Macs Foundation also applauded TPI’s recommendation for a six-month compulsory national youth skills acquisition program for graduates, emphasizing its potential to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical expertise.

“We at Macs Foundation appreciate TPI’s unwavering dedication to youth empowerment and national development. These efforts resonate deeply with our mission of promoting training, skills acquisition, and sustainable growth. We look forward to collaborations” the statement read.

Macs Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to working with key stakeholders like TPI in advancing policies of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration that equip Nigerian youth with relevant skills for a prosperous future.
