NCC, FCCPC Sign MoU to Protect Telecom Consumers

In the face of in reoccurring disaffectuon between telesco and users, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), and the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to safeguard the interests of telecommunications consumers in Nigeria.
The MoU, signed on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, aims to promote fair competition, robust consumer protection, and regulatory collaboration in the telecommunications sector. This partnership is expected to eliminate regulatory gaps, streamline operations, and ensure that consumers enjoy reliable and affordable communications services.
Key Benefits of the MoU will be to ensure that consumers are protected from exploitative practices and enjoy robust consumer protection mechanisms. promote fair competition in the telecommunications sector, ensuring that operators compete on a level playing field, foster collaboration between the NCC and FCCPC, ensuring that regulatory efforts are coordinated and effective.
Other benefits include to streamline and simplify operations for telecommunications operators, providing a one-stop-shop approach for regulatory compliance.
