Sokoto State Commissioner for Health Holds Annual State Oversight Committee Meeting

Sokoto State state Commissioner for health, honourable Asabe Balarabe today Friday 6/12/2024 held an annual state oversight committee meeting.
The meeting brought together staff from SOCHEMA, primary Health Care, NCDC and emergency response team.
Speaking during the meeting, hajiya Asabe Balarabe said the meeting focuses on several critical areas that included Basic Health Care provision fund implementation update, receiving a comprehensive updates, on the implementation activities across all gateways, review of financial reports and utilization of funds and assessment of initiative progrmmes and their impact..
The Commissioner further said today’s meeting would also focussing on SOCHEMA’ operational achievements and challenges, primary Health Care gateway implementation status, NCDC’s disease surveillance and control measures, emergency response gateways preparedness and interventions.
She said each gateway will present their specific challenges in addition to engaging in collaborative discussion to identify practical solutions and development of actionable resolutions for implementation.
The Commissioner however reminded the participants that our collective decisions would directly impact the health and wellbeing of people of Sokoto State as desired by governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto.
The Commissioner said during the meeting critical issues were discussed on how best to improve the health care system in the state.
She promised that after the meeting she would write a comprehensive report to the state governor Dr Ahmad Aliyu for his consideration
Hajiya Asabe Balarabe used the meeting to commend governor Dr Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto for his unwavering commitment to all issues related to the state ministry of health which has yielded fruthful result in reviving and repositioning the health sector in Sokoto State.
