NNPC Provides Update on Helicopter Crash, As Search Continues

The Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), has announced that, unfortunately, no additional bodies have been recovered from the helicopter crash that occurred in Port Harcourt on Thursday, October 24, 2024. The crash involved a helicopter operated by East Winds Aviation, which was engaged by NNPC Limited.

Three bodies were initially found, and search and rescue operations are still ongoing to locate the remaining bodies, with the relevant authorities working together to intensify the efforts.

Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd, expressed condolences to the families of the victims, stating, “Once again, our hearts and prayers are with family members of this unfortunate incident.”

Recall that on Thursday, October 24, 2024, a Helicopter with registration number 5NBQG, operated by East Winds Aviation which was on official assignment in Rivers State crashed with Six passengers and two crew members

As the search continues, the nation holds out hope for the families of the missing persons.
