As the world watched, Nigeria’s athletes etched their names in history, their unwavering spirit and unrelenting dedication inspiring a nation. The D’Tigress, Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, made a statement at the quarterfinal match against the world’s number one ranked team, refusing to back down with a impressive 74-88 score.

Though they may not have emerged victorious, their achievement was nothing short of remarkable. For the first time, an African team had reached the quarterfinals, shattering barriers and redefining possibilities. Their impressive performance catapulted them four ranks up the power ranking table, a testament to their hard work and perseverance.
