Transportation Minister Launches Second Phase of E-Mobility Program in Ogun State

The Honorable Minister of Transportation, Sen. Said Ahmed Alkali, launched the second phase of the Ogun State E-Mobility Program on July 31, 2024. The event, hosted by Governor Dapo Abiodun, aimed to promote sustainable transportation and reduce carbon emissions in the state.
In his speech, Minister Alkali expressed his delight at being invited to launch the program, praising Governor Abiodun for his visionary leadership. He also commended the governor for hosting the National Council on Transportation, which showcased Ogun State’s hospitality.

commend His Excellency for not only availing the opportunity to Ogun State to take the lead in embracing this modern mobility technology. but for demonstrating high level commitment
in supporting the realization of the Renewed Hope Agenda of our dear president, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed
Tinubu, GCFR which prioritizes
transportation as enabler of economic growth and gateway to the nation’s economy.
“This giant stride will no doubt enhance the economic potentials of Ogun State as a gateway state with abundant potentialities for national economic development”, Alkali stated
He further said the second phase of the program focuses on electric bikes and technical training for stakeholders. Minister Alkali emphasized the importance of this initiative, highlighting its potential to transform the transportation sector and create a more sustainable future.
Governor Abiodun, in his remarks, reiterated his commitment to innovative solutions that benefit the people of Ogun State. He expressed gratitude to the Federal Ministry of Transportation for their support and partnership.
The event featured a stakeholders’ engagement session, where participants received training and sensitization on the program’s implementation. The launch marked a significant milestone in Ogun State’s journey towards a greener and more sustainable transportation system.
With the second phase of the E-Mobility Program underway, Ogun State is poised to become a model for environmentally friendly transportation in Nigeria.
