FG Reaffirms Commitment to Women Empowerment as Kennedy- Ohanenye visits Benue State

The Federal Government of Nigeria has reiterated its dedication to promoting gender development and women empowerment through vocational training and provision of sustainable equipment
Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Barrister (Mrs), Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye who stated this today during her visit to Benue State, emphasized the crucial role the gender plays in socio-economic development of the country as well as the government’s determination to empower them for positive contributions to their families and the nation.
She stated that the Ministry plans to leverage Benue State’s abundant fruit resources to provide tools for extraction and preservation, preventing wastage and contributing to vitamin intake of all Nigerians.
The Minister also promised to provide Point of Sales (POS) machines for small and medium-scale entrepreneurs while also encouraging women to form clusters and register on the Ministry’s e-commerce portal to access grants and opportunities.
The Special Adviser on Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Hon. Fidelis Unongo welcomed the Minister on behalf of the State Governor and expressed appreciation for her achievements aimed at uplifting Nigerian women and families.
He reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for the upliftment of the lives of women and children in the State
