UN POLAC Foundation advocates Peaceful Coexistence to curb Economic/Security Challenges in the Country….

As Nigeria join the World to celebrate international day of Multilateralism and diplomacy for peace, A United Nations Peace Advocacy group, POLAC Foundation has called for more concerted efforts by government at all levels towards initiating policies that would promote peaceful coexistence and conflict resolution.

The Deputy Country President of UN-POLAC Foundation & Provost UN-POLAC peace college,Ambassador, Engr.Peter Ohagwa made the call at the event organized by the foundation to commemorate this year’s international day of multilateralism and Diplomacy in Lagos.

Amb.Ohagwa who stressed the need for collective responsibility in building equitable and Peaceful society, called for more active participation by stakeholders in achieving the desired change.

“It is a call for action ,everyone needs to show commitment ,where diplomacy,multilaterlism,collaboration/cooperation are cornerstone of global governance…

“It reminds us of shared responsibility, to work together, encouraging
active participation in shaping a more equitable and peaceful society”

 

Earlier in a keynote address,Prof Joseph Legend urged the government to take proactive steps aimed at curbing the security and economic challenges bedevilling the country.

 

Also speaking, the Secretary general of UN POLAC Foundation and one of those conferred honorary doctorate degree in Peace practice & internal relations,Mrs Patricia Agu who gave insights to the objectives of the program reiterated the commitment of the foundation in fostering peace and conflict resolution.

“All the people we see as government come from home,if l narrow it to government there is still a lot to be done and with the efforts of organizations like ours and other organization it will get better”

The event with the theme’Uniting for a Peaceful and Sustainable Future witnessed award presentation to peace Ambassadors and conferment of honorary doctorate degree in peace practice and internal relations to outstanding Nigerians both from private and public sectors.
