Dear Baba Bisi Akande, I rejoice with you on the occasion of your 85th birthday. My earnest prayer is that God will keep you for more years in my good health and sound mind. Baba, Nigeria owes you a debt of gratitude for the examplary life you have lived. I salute not just your dedication to the struggle but your unforgettable years as a foot soldier in Nigeria’s democratic army. Today, the history of Nigeria’s democratic journey will be incomplete without a special place reserved for you. You are an epitome of our collective aspirations.
As one of Nigeria’s Elder Statesmen, you stand tall with your faith in our country Nigeria and all that you have taught most of us that have played politics with you in over two decades.
Nigeria celebrates today and we hope to have you around for a long while. Happy birthday to Baba Awon Omo Kekeke.
Signed.
Senator George Akume
