NO NIGERIAN ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD WILL SUFFER FOR A CRIME HE OR SHE DID NOT COMMIT- ABIKE

The Chairman/ CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Honourable Abike Dabiri-Erewa has said that no Nigerian anywhere in the world will suffer for a crime he or she did not commit.
Abike made the statement when she received in audience Mr Osaze Osemuegie-Ero, a Former Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Diaspora Affairs Edo State who was wrongfully detained in Italy for almost two years.
Mr Osaze Osemwegie-Ero who briefed NiDCOM Boss on his ordeal in the hands of Italian authority, commended the Commission for its promptness in handling issues affecting Nigerians in Diaspora said he visited NiDCOM to create awareness and sensitise relevant Ministries, Agencies and Departments on the grave dangers and dehumanizing conditions Nigerians are under going in Italian prisons.
According to Osaze, “Over 300 Nigerians are languishing in different Italian prisons. Some has been in prison since 2016, wrongfully charged on Mafia related offenses. I am not saying that they are free from crime cases, but they should be charged on the exact crime committed.

Mr Osaze Osemwegie-Ero was arrested in Amsterdam and not in France reported in some media.
He was jailed in Italy on trumped up charges of being a Nigerian Mafia Kingpin using Article 416 Mafia instruments but after a tedious legal battle and lack of evidence, he was freed and released after 18months..
