NiDCOM RECEIVES NEW KOGI DIASPORA FOCAL POINT OFFICER

Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), has received the newly appointed Kogi State Diaspora Focal Point Officer (DFPO), Mrs Medina Nene Anako.

Receiving the new DFPO in NiDCOM Head office in Abuja on Monday on behalf of the Chairman/CEO, Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa, was the Secretary of the Commission, Engr. Dr Sule Yakubu Bassi.

Bassi congratulated the newly appointed DFPO for Kogi state and urged her to utilise every opportunity to familiarise with Kogi indigenes in the diaspora.

He stressed that in order to function properly in her office, she should have an information management system to create a database of every Kogi native in the diaspora and engage them.

Bassi also advised the new DFPO to design a programme of empowerment and discuss areas which Kogi indigenes in the Diaspora could key into.

Responding, Anako thanked the Secretary of NiDCOM for his warm reception and pledged to harness the potentials of Kogi indigenes living abroad.

Before her appointment, she was the Special Adviser to the Governor of Kogi State on Intergovernmental Affairs.

With her appointment, NIDCOM now has 32 Diaspora Focal Point Officers in the country.
