AYS 2019: Reps Committee on Youth Development to Host
The Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Youth Development, Hon Yemi Adaramodu has agreed to be Chief Host of the AFRICA YOUTH SUMMIT (AYS), 2019.
Hon Adaramodu who confirmed this when he received the organisers of the AYS in his office, noted that youths need step up in both mental and physical capacity in other to occupy more leadership positions.
He urged youths to come up with ideas that will bring solutions to challenges of the contemporary times and to avoid being used as ready tools for thuggery and violence.
Earlier the President of the Diamond Youths Transformation Initiative (DYTI), organisers of the African Youth Summit, Ambassador Uche, thanked him for receiving them at short notice, adding that they came for him to take ownership of the summit.
Honourable Yemi Adaramodu is a veteran journalist-cum-Politician who has traversed many departments in the media industry, graphics, editing and public relations. He is native of Ilawe-Ekiti in Southwest Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
He worked with Tribune newspapers for about 19 years. He was at various times a Deputy Editor, graphics editor and corporate affairs manager of the newspaper.
Adaramodu was Local Government Chairman of Ekiti South West Local Government in 1998. He is a fellow of the Institute of Local Government Administrators, former Chief of Staff to former Ekiti State Governor and Minister for Solid Mineral Development, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the Director of Communications for the Kayode Fayemi Campaign Organization and now the Honourable member Representing the good people of Ekiti south Federal Constituency at the green chamber. He is the Chairman of the House Committee on Youth Development.
His office will be the Chief Host of the Africa Youth Summit that will hold on 29 & 30 November, 2019.
