Bangladesh High Commission Celebrates National Day
The High Commission of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh (PRB) in Nigeria celebrated the 48th Anniversary of the independence and National Day of the peoples Republic of Bangladesh on Tuesday 26 March, 2019.
The celebration was anchored by the High Commissioner of Bangladrsh, Md. Shameem Ahsan, ndc who invited other Ambassadors, colleagues and business associates to celebrate with them.
He said that Bangladesh is gradually moving to a knowledge-based economy, “we have continued to make progress, and hope to be the most developed country by 2021. We have launched our own satellite being the 57th country in the world and have become Solution provider to many economy.”
He further stated, that Bangladesh is committed towards democracy and is now a brand name in UN peace keeping, adding that they are working towards global peace and stability.
The High Commissioner who pointed out that Bangladesh and Nigeria have enjoyed cordial bilateral relationship, expressed hopes that the relationship will improve in the coming days.
He also disclosed, that Bangladesh values the support and cooperation as well as friendship of the people of Nigeria.
The Commissioner emphasized the need to consolidate the relationship that exists between Nigeria and Bangladesh. ” We need to solidify this relationship in order to see to what both country can benefit from each other thereby enhancing the economy of both nations” he said.
In his remark the presidential aspirant of Action Democratic Party, ADP, in the last general elections, Engineer Y.Y Sani said that ” we need to trace how Bangladesh has made it to this level and has also defeated poverty by becoming the 4th largest producer of rice and other food stuffs and learn from them, we all know Nigeria has enough natural resources which is an edge to doing better therefore we need to stand up and work hard in other to realise this as a country”.
Over the years, Nigeria and Bangladesh have enjoyed a cordial bilateral relationship, share membership in events and also have similar views in international coral view in united nation.
Dignitaries within the countries and embassy representatives were present, including,Honourable Chris Agibe and Jarigbe Agom from the Federal House of Representative.
