91st birth Anniversary of Bangamata Fazilatun Nessa Mujib celebrated in Khartoum

The Embassy of Bangladesh in Khartoum celebrated the 91st birth anniversary of Bangamata Fazilatun Nessa Mujib at the chancery today, on 08 August 2021, in the presence of members of community and Embassy officials.

The program commemorates the sacrifice and dedication of Bangamata Fazilatun Nessa Mujib who was the source of strength and inspiration of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman during his whole political life.

The speakers in the discussion session elaborated the qualities of Bangamata as wife, mother and as a whole ‘a passionate leader. Bangabandhu was dedicated fully in politics because of constant support and encouragement from Bangamata, they added.

In his speech, the Charge de Affaires Tareq Ahmed paid rich tribute to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the architect of the country, Bangladesh. He emphasized on the contribution of Bangamata in guiding political leaders in the absence of Bangabandhu.

For political reasons, Bangabandhu had to be in jail most of the time. During those crises periods, Bangamata played very crucial role in organizing the party’s program and in liaising with the leaders all over the country, even she gave her important opinion to Bangabandhu in very significant political decisions like Bangabandhu’s attending meeting in parole and the historic 7 March Speech, the Charge de Affaires said.

A special dowa and munajat was offered for the salvation of her soul and for peace and prosperity of the country. A video on the life of Bangamata Fazilatun Nessa Mujib was screened before the audience. Some 50-55 expatriate Bangladeshis living in Khartoum attended the program spontaneously.
