2nd Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit Holds November 6-7

The second Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit (NDIS), is to take place on 6th -7th of November, 2019. This was made known to the press yesterday at Abuja in Nigeria.
Speaking, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, eulogied the huge success of the first investment summit which held in 2018, with major focus on Agribusiness, Education, Training and Skilled Workforce Development, Health Care Services and Awareness, Entertainment, Hospitality and Tourism, Infrastructure and Real Estate, Manufacturing, Extractive Industry, Telecommunications, Technology and Innovation, waste management and Environmental Remediation, and Transportation.
Hon Abike further stated that this year’s theme “LEVERAGING DIASPORA INVESTMENT FOR ECONOMIC GROWTH” recognises the important role Diaspora can play and indeed has played in helping other countries achieve amazing economic growth and transformation.
The summit therefore underscore the fact that Nigerians in Diaspora who currently account for the highest net contribution to FDI inflows into the country, represent a game-charging leverage for the country as the economy exits recession.
The NIDCOM Chairman noted that over One Hundred businesses and projects, ready for investment were identified and attracted at the First Edition of the Investment Summit through a collaborative partnership with the Public and organized Private Sector and Banks.
“This year, we aim to double that number. We also aim to increase the number of participants to Five Hundred and aim to achieve at least hundred closed deals this year”, she added.
On concrete deliverables from inaugural Investment Summit, Dabiri-Erewa said there have been Investment in agriculture with some Diasporans involved in Ranching, tourism and Hospitality with hotels being built, Real estate and Schools, among others.
She called on the media to strengthen partnership as colleagues and encouraged business owners and others who are interested in the investment opportunities to register through the website. www.ndis.gov.ng
Meanwhile, the Coordinator Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit (NDIS), Badewa Adejugbe-Williams expressed optimism that investors would cash-in on the opportunities and portfolios inherent in the summit. She noted that Africa and indeed Nigeria is the last economic frontier for global economic prosperity.
Also speaking, CEO Hyland William LLC, Dr. Corttrell kinney, an investor from Diaspora, spoke about his interest in investing in Sports and Agriculture which is as a result of his passion in youth development
The Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit (NDIS), is a government backed private sector and NiDCOM initiative targeting Nigerians in diaspora, for inward investment in the country.
