20th Abuja International Trade Fair: ACCI Lauds CBN’s Role in Boosting Private Sector Growth

The President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Chief Emeka Obegolu, has praised the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), for its efforts in maintaining monetary and price stability, regulating the financial sector, and supporting sustainable economic development. Speaking at the CBN’s Special Day celebration at the 20th Abuja International Trade Fair, the ACCI President who was represented by the Director General, Mr. Agabaidu Chukwuemeka Jideani .highlighted the bank’s critical role in enabling business growth.

“The CBN is a vital enabler of growth, providing access to credit facilities, intervention funds, forex management, and financial inclusion strategies that benefit businesses, particularly MSMEs.

“The CBN’s ongoing reforms and programmes, such as the Open Banking Framework, contactless payments, and regulatory sandbox for fintech innovation, are crucial milestones that provide businesses with easier access to finance and safer payment channels.

“The CBN’s commitment to youth empowerment, capacity building, and targeted sectoral interventions in agriculture, housing, healthcare, and education is reducing barriers to doing business and creating a more inclusive and resilient economy.

“The business community values these deliberate steps toward fostering an environment where enterprises, both large and small, can innovate, expand, and contribute to national development. ACCI Boss said

The Chambers called for sustained collaboration between the CBN and the organized private sector to accelerate inclusive growth and build a more stable, dynamic, and prosperous economy.
