2027 Elections: Cross River North Constituents in Abuja Endorse Tinubu, Otu, Jarigbe

Stakeholders from the Cross River North Senatorial District have publicly declared their support for the re-election bids of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Bassey Edet Otu, and Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was announced during a well-attended rally held at Millennium Park, where community leaders, political stakeholders, and professionals from the senatorial district gathered to express their confidence in the trio’s leadership and performance.
Convener of the rally, retired military officer and diplomat, Akpang Obi Odu, described the gathering as a fulfilment of a “divine purpose” to publicly endorse Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, whom he said had exceeded expectations in his representation of the district.
According to him, the senator’s performance within a short period in office has surpassed that of some leaders who held executive power for several years. He maintained that there was “no moral justification” for constituents not to support Jarigbe’s return to the Senate.
Reading the communiqué issued at the end of the rally, the Liaison Officer to the Governor on House of Assembly matters, Cynthia Nkasi, outlined the group’s reasons for endorsing the president, governor, and senator to continue in office through 2031.
She noted that stakeholders across political divides, professional backgrounds, and community leadership structures in Cross River North had carefully reviewed the trajectory of governance under their leadership and found it worthy of continued support.
The communiqué commended Senator Jarigbe for what it described as his “selfless political movement and integration” into the governing structure of the state, a development the group believes has strengthened the zone’s access to both federal and state opportunities.
The stakeholders also praised the senator for providing what they described as “exceptional, broad-based and quality representation,” noting that his efforts complement Governor Otu’s People First Agenda in Cross River State.
Projects and Educational Initiatives
Part of the commendation centred on development projects facilitated by the senator across communities in the Northern Senatorial District. The group acknowledged that many of the projects were evenly distributed across wards, reflecting inclusive representation.
They also highlighted Jarigbe’s commitment to youth development and education through initiatives such as scholarship opportunities, employment facilitation for Cross River North indigenes, and the widely known Jari Bursary Scheme.
According to the communiqué, these interventions have improved the educational prospects of young people from the district and increased the zone’s visibility in national institutions.
Support for Tinubu and Otu
Beyond the senatorial endorsement, the group also expressed satisfaction with the developmental strides of Governor Otu’s administration and commended ongoing efforts to complete projects initiated by previous governments in the state.
P
They further acknowledged the economic reforms introduced by the federal government under President Tinubu, describing them as bold initiatives aimed at repositioning Nigeria’s economy despite prevailing challenges.
Call for Re-election
In view of these considerations, the stakeholders unanimously endorsed Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe for a second term in the Senate. They also backed the re-election of Governor Bassey Otu and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
The group pledged to mobilise support across associations, community groups, and political networks within the Cross River North Senatorial District to ensure their continued leadership.
Coordinator of the rally, Dr. Dornclaimz Enamhe, explained that the event was also organised to appreciate the federal government for policies and infrastructure projects which, according to him, have benefited Cross River State.
Other prominent speakers and stakeholders present at the rally included Ntufam Fidelis Ugbo, Barrister Fidel Bisong Osang, Chief Peter Ojie, Hon. Martins Martin Orim, Hon. Thomas Agi, Rt. Hon. Regina Anyogo, Chief Austin Edibe, Hon. Gabriel Bravo Oluohu, and Roy Jones Akpak, among others.
Participants at the rally described Senator Jarigbe—popularly referred to by supporters as the “People’s Senator”—as a leader whose representation has brought tangible development projects and increased political recognition to the Cross River North Senatorial District.
