2023 C’River Guber election: Arthur Jarvis emerges PDP Southern Consensus Aspirant

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has made Sir Arthur Jarvis Archibong the consensus Governorship Candidate for Cross River Southern Senatorial District ahead of the 2023 general elections.
This decision was made after an intense deliberation chaired by the former Governor of the State and Leader of the Southern Senatorial District, Mr Donald Duke under the auspices of the Southern Senatorial District Leaders, Traditional Rulers’ Council, Eminent Clergies and Stakeholders.
Reports have it that Duke was mandated by Traditional Rulers, Leaders, Elders, Stakeholders, as well as religious leaders from the Southern Senatorial District to ensure the emergence of a unanimous and credible Aspirant from the District.
“After 7 hours of engagement, the forum decided to cast votes to select an aspirant of their choice and Arthur Jarvis Archibong emerged with 12 votes, Amb. Nkoyo Toyo 9 and Hon Daniel Asuquo 4. Other Aspirants had 1 vote each.
After several unsuccessful one-on-one and group attempts by other Aspirants, Elders and Stakeholders to select a consensus Aspirant, the choice of Sir Arthur Jarvis Archibong came about through a total vote of 32 out of the 34 Stakeholders present.
